Jim Crocker Suspends Campaign - Debate Tomorrow Canceled

The Republican candidate for State Senator of the Cape and Islands District has temporarily suspended his campaign following a family tragedy.
James H. Crocker Jr. announced this week that his in-laws, 77-year-old Joan Bibeau and 80-year-old Robert Bibeau of Arlington, were involved in a one-car accident on Monday around 3:30 PM. Mr. Crocker said he would be suspending his state senate campaign until after his in-laws’ funeral, which is scheduled for Saturday, “in an effort to help my family cope with this tragedy.”
As a result of his family commitments, a debate scheduled for tomorrow between Mr. Crocker and Democratic rival Daniel A. Wolf has been canceled.
However, the first half of the debate at Cape Cod Community College, featuring the five candiates for US Representative of the 10th Congressional District, will proceed as planned. That portion of the evening is scheduled to run from 6:30 to 8:30 PM; it was originally scheduled to end at 8 PM but was extended.
The debate is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Cape Cod Area.
